Please note: the Emergency Asthma Management
Course detailed below is conducted in the State of Victoria,
Australia.
The Course in Emergency Asthma Management (EAM) is
an accredited training course specifically designed to
- promote the standardised emergency management protocols for
treating an asthma attack,
- raise the general level of awareness of asthma and emergency
asthma management,
- promote a proactive approach to asthma through the development
of an asthma policy,
- provide a registration protocol, which enables legal access to
reliever medication for first aid kits.
The Victorian EAM Program is unique within Australia, has Office
of Employment, Training and Tertiary Education (OTTE) accreditation
and has national training recognition.
There are potentially two reasons for people to
undertake the EAM Program:
- to ensure somebody knows what to do in the case of an
emergency, and
- to provide the means to enable an organization to
legally hold blue reliever medication in a first aid
kit.
We offer four modules:
- Workplaces,
- Sporting and recreational facilities,
- Schools, and
- Childcare
