A Health and Safety Company
With our corporate headquarters in Canberra, PARASOLEMT
provides high quality first aid and health and safety training to a
range of clients in Australia and overseas.
We moved into our purpose designed Canberra
premises in July 2003, and since that time have modernised the
office environment due to our growth.
We have represenatives Australia wide, and provide
training, products and services all around Australia and overseas.
With our successfull publications arm, Active Publications, we have
commenced selling our first aid manuals in the United Kingdom.
Each year we train in excess of 45,000 people, and
have distributed over 300,000 copies of Active First Aid, one of
our manuals which is now in its 7th Edition. We also sell a
smaller, abridged manual, the First Aid Quick Guide, which is now
in its fourth print run.
PARASOL EMT also sells a large range of first aid
kits to all areas of the market. One of our most successful kits,
the domestic medium, is sold through Bunnings hardware stores
Australia wide, with over 35,000 kits sold each year. We are listed
by the Therapeutic Goods Administration, which allows us to build
and sell first aid kits as required by the Commonwealth Government
through the TGA. Ask your first aid supplier if they are TGA listed
to ensure that the kit meets government regulations. PARASOL EMT's
TGA number is "Aust L 66963".
PARASOL EMT is one of the few private
Registered Training Providers that can provide fully accredited
first aid certificates Australia-wide.
PARASOL EMT provides qualified, experienced
instructors for all our training and consultancy. We have over 250
trainers dispersed throughout Australia who are qualified
experienced ambulance officers, paramedics, registered nurses or
who have other relevant experience. Our trainers hold Certificate
IV in Assessment & Workplace Training as a minimum
qualification. PARASOL EMT does not use any volunteer trainers,
which we believe allows us to deliver high quality training.
Many of our trainers have overseas experience
as paramedics or nurses and we have provided advice, training and
consultancy to organisations in Japan, Thailand and Indonesia.
Areas covered by the company’s training modules include manual
handling, confined spaces training, health and safety awareness for
industry and agriculture, compliance inspections and consultancy
services, NSW & QLD OHS induction for construction workers,
fire extinguisher and fire warden training, NSW workplace
consultation training, Commonwealth Health & Safety workplace
representative training and a full range of first aid training.
PARASOL EMT can provide specialist training to clients who have
special safety, medical or clinical requirements.

History
The company was created in 1996 by two
intensive care ambulance paramedics, who set out to provide high
quality flexible training solutions for government, industry and
the general public. PARASOL EMT is owned by Peter Mckie, and is now
one of Australia’s largest providers of emergency and safety
training – no easy feat in a nation that leads the world in the
efficiency and effectiveness of its emergency
procedures.

Future Goals
PARASOL EMT has the aim of becoming the
leading first aid and occupational health & safety company in
Australia.
We will continue to use highly qualified trainers
and consultants to underline the major point of difference between
PARASOL EMT and other organisations in the market today.
